About Mal

I have been collecting dolls since I was six years old in 2009. In 2014, I started sharing my passion for dolls online via my YouTube Channel and Instagram. Since then, I have gotten to work with some of my favorite doll brands and got to meet people who love dolls just as much as I do! You are never too old to do what you love!

My Collecting Dolls Journey

I have had a love for dolls all of my life. In fact, collecting and playing with dolls actually runs in my family! My great-grandma, grandma, and mom were all fans of dolls when growing up. My great-grandma actually collected dolls while she was alive as well!

When I was little, I remember wanting every single doll that I saw while walking the toy aisles in various stores. I would beg my parents to buy me a doll or multiple dolls when they took me to the store! In 2009, a special holiday catalog arrived in the mail. I remember being fascinated and immediately falling in love with these dolls! I have never really seen these dolls before. After a while of loving and becoming obsessed with American Girl dolls, my dad got the news that his company was sending him on a work trip to a city where an American Girl doll existed! Since the work trip was around my sixth birthday and my parents wanted to get me a doll, we went to Chicago in October 2009. The whole experience was so magical that I can retell how magical the day was to anybody. I recall this experience as the spark that led me to where I am today-creating content and sharing my love for dolls!

Collecting dolls and creating content has brought me so many different opportunities, beautiful friendships with people, and crazy experiences! I am very thankful to have a passion that came with so many great memories!

The Social Media World

In 2011, I was searching YouTube for videos to watch since I was bored. I decided to search to see if I could find any videos on American Girl Dolls. To my surprise, I found a community made up of people like me posting videos on their dolls. These people made dolls more fun and exciting. Plus, they made it look like even creating videos with your dolls was fun and exciting as well! For my birthday in 2013, I received my first ever video camera and started posting videos online in 2014 when I was 10 years old.

Ever since then, my love for creating content and my love for dolls has grown. I have expanded into the podcast world by having my own podcast called the Doll Mom Podcast and expanded into the website-making world by creating my own American Girl History website. I really enjoy doing what I love and getting to connect as well as inspire other doll collectors in the process!
