In 2012, American Girl released Caroline Abbott as the thirteenth doll in the Historical Characters line. American Girl first announced her release on their social media pages by sharing a photo of Caroline and her accessories. Before Caroline's release, American Girl sent Caroline dolls to different bloggers to highlight and share to build excitement for Caroline's release.
With the launch of BeForever, Caroline sadly did not receive an updated meet outfit or accessories. Instead, Caroline received updated book, clothing, and accessories offerings.
In May of 2015, American Girl announced the retirement of Caroline and her collection. Caroline was then retired in December. Caroline Abbott is not available for purchase from American Girl today.
