GIRLS OF MANY LANDS
In 2002, American Girl released Girls of Many Lands. Just like the Historical Characters, these dolls have stories based on the past. However, their stories usually take place outside of the United States of America and have older time periods. Girls of Many Lands were also targeted towards an older demographic with the starting age being ten.Â
The dolls that were a part of this line were very different from the regular dolls that American Girl had at the time. These dolls were only nine inches tall and their body was full vinyl. The dolls were also meant to be display dolls, so they were targeted toward an older audience.Â
In 2005, American Girl retired the line. The reason for the retirement is still unknown today. However, there are many rumors about why the line officially retired.
