COLLECTOR DOLLS
In 2019, American Girl started coming out with special limited edition dolls with Swarovski. Originally, the limited edition dolls were special one-of-the-kind dolls. Prior to 2019, American Girl used the term "limited edition dolls" for the Girl of the Year line before they named the line Girl of the Year.
However in 2020, American Girl released the Sugar Plum Fairy Doll with 5,000 made. The limited edition line now consists of special one-of-the-kind dolls and special numbered dolls.
In Fall of 2021, American Girl partnered with Carly Cushnie to come out with one-the-kind modern dolls that were based off of the six original Historical Characters. This was the first time that American Girl came out with one-of-the-kind dolls that did not have Swarovski crystals.
In 2022 and onwards, American Girl started calling the line the Collector Series.
In June of 2023, American Girl announced that they were going to have three surprises for the next three months to the Collector Series line. In July, American Girl released the FAO Schwarz Toy Solider Doll. In August, American Girl released the Disney Princess Dolls. These dolls were Belle, Jasmine, and Rapunzel. In September, American Girl released the Shimmering Silver Collector Doll as the 2023 Holiday Collector Doll. American Girl also surprised released The Classic Barbie by American Girl Collector Doll at the end of November/beginning of December of 2023.

2019 SWAROVSKI COLLECTOR DOLL

In 2019, American Girl partnered with Swarovski to make three limited edition dolls. Each doll has over 5,000 Swarovski crystals and beads. Only three dolls were made and one was displayed in each flagship store location.

2020 SUGAR PLUM FAIRY COLLECTOR DOLL

In 2020, American Girl continued their Swarovski partnership and their Nutcracker collection by releasing the Sugar Plum Fairy doll. The Sugar Plum Fairy doll has more than 250 Swarovski crystals on her leotard, tiara, and scepter. She comes in a special box and number card telling you what number doll she is out of 5,000 made.
The doll herself is Truly Me 86, but with some differences such as makeup on her face like lipstick and eyeshadow.

A month later after the Sugar Plum Fairy doll was released, American Girl released three one-of-a-kind dolls. One out of the three was the Sweet as a Rose Collector Doll. This doll is wearing a petal pink ballgown with rosettes. Each flower on the dress is individually adorned with Swarovski crystals. The beaded bodice and the satin skirt have more than 1,000 crystals and beads. Besides having a gorgeous dress, the doll also has a one-of-a-kind tiara, bracelets, and earrings. Just like the 2019 One-of-the-kind Swarovski dolls, the 2020 Swarovski dolls were on display at each of American Girl's flagships stores. This doll was on display at American Girl's Chicago location.

This doll came in an empire-waist, ice-blue bell-sleeved gown that sparkles with 2,200 and-appliqued Swarovski crystals and crystal beads. Besides coming in a gorgeous dress, the doll also came with a matching tiara and earrings. Just like the 2019 One-of-the-kind Swarovski dolls, the 2020 Swarovski dolls were on display at each of American Girl's flagships stores. This doll was on display at American Girl's Los Angeles location.

This doll came in a glamorous ballgown that has layers of fuchsia, pink, and pewter feathers that created an ombre effect. In the layers of the feathers, strands of sparkling crystals and beads peek out. Meanwhile, the satin bodice was embellished with 1,400 Swarovski crystals. Besides coming in a gorgeous dress, the doll also came with a matching tiara, bracelets, and earrings. Just like the 2019 One-of-the-kind Swarovski dolls, the 2020 Swarovski dolls were on display at each of American Girl's flagships stores. This doll was on display at American Girl's New York location.

2021 WINTER PRINCESS DOLL (BRUNETTE VERSION)

In 2021, American Girl continued their partnership with Swarovski by coming out with two different dolls in the same outfits.Â
Both dolls are wearing a pink ruffled dress covered with Swarovski crystals, a gold tiara with Swarovski crystals, a necklace with a Swarovski crystal, pink gloves, earrings with Swarovski crystals, and pink sparkly flats. There are over 170 Swarovski crystals on both dolls! The dolls also come with a round sparkly pink purse, a certificate of authenticity, and arrive in a specially designed box.Â
In this version of the Winter Princess, the doll is dark-skinned and has brown hair with auburn highlights.Â
Both dolls were available to purchase to AG Reward Members 48-hours before their release to the general public. The dolls were mainly sold online with retail American Girl stores selling a limited quantity.

2022 SAPPHIRE SPLENDOR COLLECTOR DOLL

In 2022, American Girl continued releasing collector dolls in collaboration with Swarovski by releasing the Sapphire Splendor doll. She has more than 100 Swarovski crystals and no more than 18,000 dolls were made.Â
The Sapphire Splendor doll has violet eyes and long curly hair that is a mixture of blue, green, and purple hues. She also has glitter eye makeup and Swarovski crystal earrings. She comes wearing a peacock-inspired gown that is embellished with Swarovski crystals. She also comes with a metal tiara with Swarovski crystals, a Swarovski crystal necklace, elbow-length gloves, a gold peacock purse, a pair of gold sandals, and a numbered certificate of authenticity.Â
Unlike past Swarovski dolls on the back of the certificate, American Girl gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the design process of the holiday doll. Annie Nguyen, a Lead Designer at American Girl, designed this doll and the certificate goes into detail about where her inspiration came from for this doll.
AMERICAN GIRL X FAO SCHWARZ 2023 TOY SOLIDER DOLL

In 2023, American Girl continued releasing collector dolls in collaboration with Swarovski with the Toy Solider. However, American Girl also collaborated with FAO Schwarz! No more than 4,000 were made of the The American Girl X FAO Schwarz 2023 Toy Solider Doll.
The Toy Solider Doll has curly dark brown hair with caramel highlights styled into a side ponytail with two front pieces loose around the face. She has light blue eyes and painted on eyelashes. She also has pierced ears. She also comes wearing a red velvet jacket, a three-layer black mesh skirt, a black satin belt, white gloves, hat, white knee-high socks, and black knee-high shiny boots. She also arrives in a special collector box and a numbered certificate of authenticity.Â
The American Girl X Fao Schwarz 2023 Toy Solider Doll's certificate did have a misspelling of "Swarovski." American Girl sent an email to all customers who purchases and invited them to email customer service with a clear picture of their misspelled certificate to have their certificate reprinted to the corrected spelling of Swarovski.
AMERICAN GIRL DISNEY PRINCESS BELLE COLLECTOR DOLL

In August of 2023, American Girl collaborated with Disney Princess to release three dolls to the collector line. American Girl has continued their collaboration with Swarovski by putting Swarovski crystals on the dresses and accessories of the dolls.Â
The Belle collector doll has hazel eyes and long wavy brown hair that is styled in a twisted half bun. She also has pierced ears. Belle arrives home wearing a gold-colored satin gown that is embedded with more than 100 Swarovski crystals and glittery gold kitten-heel shoes. She also comes with a golden metal tiara, satin elbow-length gloves, and a numbered certificate of authenticity. No more than 4,000 of this doll was made and she was the second collector of 2023 to sell out.
AMERICAN GIRL DISNEY PRINCESS JASMINE COLLECTOR DOLL

In August of 2023, American Girl collaborated with Disney Princess to release three dolls to the collector line. American Girl has continued their collaboration with Swarovski by putting Swarovski crystals on the dresses and accessories of the dolls.Â
The Jasmine Collector Doll has brown eyes, pierced ears, and long black hair that is styled half black in signature twists and a segmented ponytail. Jasmine arrives home wearing a turquoise two-piece set that is studded in more than 100 Swarovski crystals, a gold necklace, and a pair of gold-colored pointed-toe slippers. She also comes with a glittery, turquoise headband and a numbered certificate of authenticity. No more than 4,000 has been created worldwide.
AMERICAN GIRL DISNEY PRINCESS RAPUNZEL COLLECTOR DOLL

In August of 2023, American Girl collaborated with Disney Princess to release three dolls to the collector line. American Girl has continued their collaboration with Swarovski by putting Swarovski crystals on the dresses and accessories of the dolls. Â
The Rapunzel Collector Doll has blue-green eyes, long golden-blonde hair that is styled into a braid accented with forest florals. Rapunzel arrives home wearing a purple stain and pink taffeta gown with nearly 100 Swarovski crystals on their gown, a sun shade necklace, and a pair of purple satin shoes. Rapunzel also comes with a gold metal tiara and a numbered certificate of authenticity. No more than 4,000 have been created worldwide.Â
Rapunzel was the first Disney Princess Collector Doll to sell out and the first out of the total 2023 Collector Dolls to sell out by selling out in September of 2023. Rapunzel also has the longest hair of any doll!
2023 SHIMMERING SILVER HOLIDAY COLLECTOR DOLL

In September of 2023, American Girl released the Shimmering Silver Collector Doll as the holiday collector of 2023.Â
The Shimmer Silver Collector Doll has grey eyes and long white/silver hair that is styled in a braided back ponytail with two loose strands at the front. She arrives home wearing a plated sliver metallic gown, silver metal drop earrings, a silver metal necklace, silver plastic arm cuff, and gray sandals. She also comes with a silver metal headpiece, silver satin purse, and a number certificate of authenticity. No more than 10,000 were produced. She sold out in the middle of December.
CLASSIC BARBIE BY AMERICAN GIRL COLLECTOR DOLL

In November of 2023, American Girl announced the Classic Barbie Collector Doll. The doll was available for pre-sale at the end of November for AG Rewards members. On December 1st, the doll was available for pre-sale to the general public. The Classic Barbie Collector Doll was available to purchase on American Girl's Website and at Mattel Creations Website. The Classic Barbie Collector sold out within hours of being available to the general public.Â
The Classic Barbie Collector Doll has crystal-blue eyes, black winged eyeliner, blue eyeshadow, and blond hair that is styled in a topknot ponytail with curled bangs, bright red lips, and red painted nails. She comes home wearing a black-and-white striped bathing suit featuring 455 Swarovski crystals, a pink wrist tag, a pair of golden hoop earrings, and a pair of shiny black peep-toe shoes. She also comes with a pair of white cat-eye sunglasses, a mini Barbie magazine, and a doll stand. No more than 5,000 were made worldwide.Â
Unlike past collector dolls, she does not come with a numbered certificate. The Classic Barbie was available for pre-order only and was an made-to-order item. These dolls were expected to ship by November 30, 2024. This was a whole year after they were available to purchase! These dolls also have the most Swarovski crystals on them!
AMERICAN GIRL DISNEY FROZEN ANNA COLLECTOR DOLL

She also comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity. No more than 5,000 were produced.
AMERICAN GIRL DISNEY FROZEN ELSA COLLECTOR DOLL

In July of 2024, American Girl released the Disney Frozen Elsa Collector Doll to berry members for early access. The doll was available to the general public in early August.Â
The Disney Frozen Elsa Collector Doll has blue eyes, iridescent eye shadow, pink lips, and long platinum-blonde hair that is styled into a braid and is accented with snowflake clips with blue Swarovski crystals. She comes home wearing a blue gown decorated with sequins and Swarovski crystals, earrings, and transparent blue kitten-heel shoes. She also comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity. No more than 7,000 were produced.
CARLY CUSHNIE DOLLS
In the Fall of 2021, American Girl partnered with Carly Cushnie for Harlem's Fashion Row. With this partnership, the original six dolls were redesigned into modern characters. Only one was made and auctioned off through eBay with all of the proceeds went to Girls Who Code.
Just like the 35th-anniversary dolls, they came in the same book and a certificate of authenticity. The dolls also are signed by Carly Cushnie on their torso.
