Girl of the Year 2015

On January 1, 2015, American Girl released Grace Thomas as the Girl of the Year 2015. To celebrate her release, American Girl held special events at each of their retail stores and gave a free doll-sized apron that said "Grace Thomas" to customers. Throughout 2015, American Girl hosted special events for Grace and even giveaways. Grace has the most giveaway items than any other Girl of the Year doll.
Like past Girl of the Year dolls, American Girl continued the trend of making Girl of the Year movies by making a movie for Grace. To celebrate Grace's movie, American Girl retail stores hosted special movie premiere events where customers watched the movie before the general public, participated in crafts, and received a goodie bag based on Grace's bakery.

"Grace loves to bake! She can't wait to go to Paris to visit her aunt and uncle's bakery, called a patisserie. Being away from her friends all summer is hard, but Grace brings back lots of her ideas for setting up a bakery with them when she returns" (American Girl Character Encyclopedia New Edition 78).
