Girl of the Year of 2006

In 2006, American Girl released Jess McConnell as the fourth Girl of the Year doll. Jess was the first doll that American Girl has released to carry the Girl of the Year title and first released on January 1st. Which all dolls after Jess has followed except for Joss Kendrick and Kira Bailey. Unlike Girl of the year dolls that came out before Jess, Jess was only out for one year. Jess McConnell is not currently available to purchase from American Girl.

"Jess is excited to leave the United States for the first time and travel to Belize in Central America with her archeologist parents. They spend five months at a dig of ancient Maya ruins. In Belize, Jess discovers lots of new things about the world-and about herself" (American Girl Encyclopedia 54).
