In September of 2007, American Girl released Julie Albright as the ninth Historical Character. Julie was also released along with her Best Friend named Ivy Ling. In Fall of 2014 as apart of the BeForever launch, Julie receive a all new collection. In 2019, American Girl updated Julie's collection again and gave her a new exclusive area in American Girl's New York Store called Julie's World. Julie is currently available to purchase from American Girl.

"Julie is growing up in San Francisco in the 1970s. It is a time of change in the U.S. and in Julie's own life. Julie finds some changes hard to get used to, like her parents getting divorced. But she discovers that sometimes change is worth fighting for. She campaigns to save endangered animals and to make sure girls have equal opportunities at school" (American Girl Encyclopedia 44).
