In September of 2007, American Girl released Ivy Ling with Julie Albright. Ivy was American Girl's first Asian character in the Historical Character line and has the smallest collection of any Best Friend doll. In May of 2014, American Girl announced the retirement of Ivy along with Ruthie Smithens, Cécile Rey, and Marie-Grace Gardner. In August of 2014 as part of the BeForever launch, Ivy was officially retired. Ivy is not available to purchase from American Girl today.
